[blindlaw] blindlaw Digest, Vol 42, Issue 4

Well, I doubt you'd be able to use the laptop in any case for the risk of
unfairly navigating the Internet during a round. The MPower worked well for
flowing the opening and constructive speeches. It was easy to insert points
midway through the flow so that on my rebuttal I would be sure not to drop
points. In the American parliamentary style it was just as crucial not to
drop points on topicality and other technicalities. I'll be completely
honest and say that I only started using the slate after my MPower crashed
on me during one of my opening speeches. I spent the rest of that round
flowing on a slate, and while I will be the first to say it was hard as hell
for me, it helped keep my notes more tighty because I was not as fast at
slating as I was at typing. It helped me concentrate on the key issues and
less inclined to take stenographic notes. Write me off list. It's always
good to meet a fellow debater.
