I think there are multiple layers to your question that require a more
in depth discussion than e-mail usually permits. I'd be happy to
discuss your situation with you. I am an attorney with the U.S.

Subject: [blindlaw] Federal Quota Funds...

Hello,

My name is Lisa, and I am new to this list. I joined just to see what
it was all about. I've been reading some of the emails but not
posting. My daughter is visually impaired.

I'm not sure if this is the right place to present my query, but here is
what I posted on some other lists and decided to post it here, too, to
see if any of you could help me with this issue. Please read the
following and let me know if you can give me some answers....

I'm assuming that the Federal Quota Funds are being used by the public
school systems to help pay for materials needed for the visually
impaired and blind. According to APH, you can't have dual enrollment.
Public schools are not the only entity that can access these funds.
Private schools are included.
So one is already in a public school and is withdrawn and placed into a
private school, how does that work in regards to the Federal Quota Fund
Account?
Does the public school account need to be closed and a new one opened
in with a private school application? It also mentioned that you need
to be enrolled in the registering school by the first Monday of
January. Does anybody have a more thorough knowledge of this. I am
mostly interested in knowing if I can cancel a registration from public
schooling and re-register through a private school.

Thank you,
Lisa
