Hello all. During the general session of the NFB convention in Atlanta,
Humanware announced that it will be working with Research In Motion (RIM)
and the National Federation of the Blind to make the Blackberry fully
accessible to the blind. Humanware spokesman Giles Pepin said that he hopes
to bring representatives from Research in Motion, the developer of
blackberry, to our convention next year as a sponsor. The NFB and Humanware
will consult with RIM and Pepin wants federationists to be able to speak
directly with RIM representativeds in order to share their concerns and to
provide input on what a truly accessible Blackberry should entail. Stay
tuned for more information. I am sure press releases are forthcoming.

Subject: [blindlaw] Accessible Blackberry Solution

Morning all

I had a question about whether others have successfully found a solution for
an accessible Blackberry. My type of work requires checking email regularly
and being able to be contacted when out of the office.

Right now I am exploring installing Mobile Speak Smartphone or Smart Hal on
a Motorola Q (Windows Mobile 5 smartphone) and Sync'ing with Exchange.

Any help appreciated.

Jack
