Below is our announcement regarding the luncheon occuring on January 29th. I have some information to add. We will be in the Discovery II Room at the Holiday Inn Capitol. Second, even though I say in the announcement that you should make your reservations by the 12th, we will still accept them. I know that some of you are coming but have not given us your reservation. What: Washington CLE Luncheon Featuring Keynote from EEOC Commissioner Christine Griffin
When: January 29, 2007 from noon to 1:30 p.m.
Where: Holiday Inn Capitol, 550 C Street SW
Cost: $45.00 for lawyers requesting CLE $30.00 for law students and non-lawyers
The National Association of Blind Lawyers (NABL) is pleased to announce its 2007 Washington CLE Luncheon. The Honorable Christine Griffin, Commissioner of the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) will keynote the luncheon by addressing recent developments including the EEOC's LEAD Initiative, Leadership for the Employment of Americans with Disabilities. Commissioner Griffin will also discuss the EEOC's co-sponsorship of the American Bar Association's first ever National Conference on the Employment of Lawyers with Disabilities and the extensive report issued by the ABA from that Conference. Scott C. LaBarre, Esq., Chair of the ABA's Commission on Mental and Physical Disability Law, will discuss the ABA follow-up efforts after the Conference and will introduce staff responsible for same. CLE materials and a certificate of attendance will be distributed and an hour of programming will be offered. A plated lunch will be served. NABL will hold a business meeting after the luncheon where new initiatives and current case law affecting the blind will be discussed.
