[blindlaw] audio books

Hello Joshua and Stephanie,

I too use Audible.com and find the service terrific. There are frequent
sales and a subscriber can purchase audio books for approximately $10 each.
The good news however, is that an increasing number of public libraries are
adopting a similar platform and making audio book downloads available to
library patrons through mainstream methods...no requirement for proprietary
technology, and no requirement to identify as a person with a disability to
take out books. Progress sure feels sweet. Many mainstream libraries are
offering this new service either as a public program offering or as a pilot
project.

Best Regards,
Sharlyn

I do not know of a free source of audio books. I would be happy to learn of
one myself. The least expensive way I know to get them is to. download them
from the website.
http://.audible.com you pay $23 a month for a membership. Then you can
download any to audio books which you want. I have purchased books which
would normally cost $65 on CD, for $11. I like audio books a lot. This is
the best deal I have found.
