What is happening when you try to read these PDF's? Can you read other PDF's? Which version of JFW and which version of Adobe Acrobat Reader do you have?
If you are getting the "empty document" message, it is possible that the pages of the document are scanned images rather than text. While this is not preferred, some
OCR programs such as Kurzweil's K-1000 and OmniPage can perform character recognition without the need to print out the document on paper.
There are cases where the text exists, but screen readers such as JFW and Window-Eyes can't read the text because of security settings. Sometimes these issues are
resolved by using the latest version of the Adobe Acrobat Reader which is version 8. If you are using anything less than version 7, you should upgrade but I think it's
worth upgrading to the latest version regardless.
