AREA OF CONSIDERATION: All Qualified Applicants - Applicants will be

MAJOR DUTIES:

You will serve as an Investigator in the EEOC District Office. Receives
Field
inquiries and charges/complaints of employment discrimination under the
Federal
statutes enforced by the Commission. Interviews potential charging
parties,
informs them of their administrative and legal rights and
responsibilities under
the laws enforced by the Commission, and conducts preliminary review of
information gathered to determine whether the Commission has
jurisdiction. Drafts

charges and complaints for review and approval of supervisor and takes
affidavits

of charging parties/complaints, as appropriate. Analyzes segments of
routine,
less complex cases assigned for investigation. Studies assigned material
pertinent to the case and, under close guidance of the supervisor,
drafts a
written plan identifying the bases and issues involved, the applicable
theories
of
law, the scope of the investigation, potential sources of evidence, the
types of
evidence required, and recommends investigative techniques to be
employed.

{Status applicants who wish to be considered under both EEOC's merit
promotion
announcement(MPA) and Delegated Examining Unit (DEU) authorities must

QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS: Applicants must meet general and specialized
experience described below. This requirement is in accordance with the
OPM
Qualification Standards Handbook. For more information please visit the

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: In order to be considered qualified, you must
demonstrate, in your resume and responses to questions, at least one
year of
specialized experience equivalent to the next lower grade in the Federal
service.

OTHER INFORMATION:

-- You must be a United States citizen to apply.

-- To be eligible for Federal employment, male applicants born after
December 31,

1959, must certify at the time of appointment that they have registered
with the
Selective Service System, or are exempt from having to do so under
Selective
Service law.

RATING AND RANKING: You will be rated on the extent and quality of
experience,
education and training relevant to the duties of the position. All
eligible
applicants will receive a numerical rating based on their responses to
the
application questions for this position submitted via SOARS (QuickHire).
