[blindlaw] Questions

I would also advise you to include an addendum to your application,
explaining anything you believe the admissions committee should know about
your blindness, if in case you don't want to put such information in your
personal statement. Similar to Angie, I wrote two personal statements, and
my blindness was the main topic in both. You don't want to write something
like: oops, I am blind and I should be admitted. But what you want to do is
to find a specific moment or moments that have impacted you, which you
believe is relevant to the reasons why you want to attend law school and
write about it.
If while you are applying you have specific questions about the process, let
me know, and I will be glad to help.
Don't wait until December to send out your applications, the earlier the
better...
Rod

Hi Yasmine,
I wrote two personal statements, and both of them ended up mentioning my
blindness. I applied to several schools and ended up narrowing the places I
visited down to three. Some schools will provide a partial travel subsidies
if you go to an admitted-students
weekend, so it might be worth it to wait until then to visit. On the other
hand, you wouldn't have as much individual attention if you came at another
time, I suppose. I went to admitted-student events at the three schools I
visited. I found that visiting gave me different
impressions of the schools. In the end, I kind of regretted that I could
only attend one of them.
Best of luck wiht the application process. Have you taken the LSAT yet?

to law schools right now and wanted to know if you all had any insight on
the admissions process. Any suggestions on things to do/not to do? I'm
planning to visit each school to ensure I
can have the necessary accommodations. Did any of you do this before
applying? Did any of you write about being blind and the obstacles you have
overcome in your personal statements?
