My apologies, I forgot to edit out in my earlier note the back and forth
between myself and the researcher. So if you already read the note and
gave up finding the original note from the researcher, you just needed
to scroll down a bit.

Subject: [blindlaw] Important Research on Use of Workplace Personal
Asistants

HI Folks,

Back a few weeks ago I sent out this note, which is a federally funded
research into the use of, and problems relating with, work place
personal assistants.

I just had my interview today, and the researcher mentioned that they
had not received inquiries from outside California, and that they very
much wanted to get that.

I urge everybody to consider participating. All I had to do was fill
out and fax in a consent form, that had only a few blanks to fill in.
The interview took an hour.. That's it.

Based upon the issues we have discussed here in the recent past, it is
very much in our best interests to participate. This research is being
done by a top flight university, funded by the federal government, and I
thus expect this project may have great potential to influence changes
in the current system, the shortcomings of which we are all painfully
aware.

sincerely,
Timothy Ford

Hi, Tim,

Thanks for getting back to me. I have received your consent to be
interviewed form. Please send me a couple of days and times on those
days when you would be available for the telephone interview that will
take about thirty minutes. It would be best if the dates begin next
week when my schedule is open. Thanks.

I finally got the consent form faxed to you late last week, so I am
ready to be interviewed. My work phone number is 916-440-7822. You
could try just calling me, but it might be best to set a specific
date/time, so we can do the interview the first time.

Sincerely,
Timothy Ford

Hello, Tim,

Thank you for your interest in our research project. Attached is the
material that will explain it in more detail.

One attachment is the letter of invitation to participate in the
research. The other is the form in which you consent to be interviewed.
I will need to have your signed consent form before we can do the
interview. You can fax the consent form to me at (510) 549-6512 and
send the original signed consent form by regular mail to InfoUse at the
address below.

Please send me a couple of days and times on those days when you would
be available for the telephone interview that will take about thirty
minutes.

The web site for the Center for Personal Assistance Services is
<http://www.pascenter.org/> http://www.pascenter.org. The direct link
on that site to Workplace PAS is
<http://www.pascenter.org/workplace_pas/index.php>
http://www.pascenter.org/workplace_pas/index.php .

The direct link to the part of that web site that is a training tool for
people who hire their own personal assistants is
<http://www.pascenter.org/pas_users/q_and_a.php?url=index_pas.php>
http://www.pascenter.org/pas_users/q_and_a.php?url=index_pas.php .

The InfoUse web site is <http:www.infouse.com> www.infouse.com . There
you can see the Open Futures project, which shows a variety of role
models and careers for young people in transition.

Would you please disseminate the attached recruitment poster as widely
as possible, especially to people who use workplace personal assistance.
The poster provides information on how they can contact us to
participate.

Thank you for your interest in this important project.
