MAJOR DUTIES:

The Deputy Regional Counsel will directly oversee and supervise the
performance of the eight (8) Associate Regional Counsel located
throughout the Western
Region. In addition to these management duties, responsibilities
include, but are not limited to, serving as one of the attorneys
providing on-site legal
advice to either the Seattle District Office, San Francisco District
Office or Los Angeles District Office of USCIS personnel on issues
involving immigration
related adjudications, inadmissibility and deportability grounds, and
national security. The incumbent will also be responsible for providing
litigation
support to U.S. Attorneys' Offices on cases arising from either the
Seattle District, San Franciso District or Los Angeles District
adjudications. The
incumbent will also be assigned to provide litigation advice and
litigation support on cases and issues arising out of other USCIS
Districts within the
Western Region as needed.  The Deputy Regional Counsel will be
supervised by the Western Regional Counsel and the Deputy Chief Counsel.
