Ronza,
As for the hot keys for menus, Window-eyes uses most if not all that are established by Microsoft. In fact, there are some JAWS does not use that it uses. It is a lot different with the internet; it has a different approach to getting at comments, footnotes and end notes and that sort of information, and there are some other differences. I received training with it because I have heard it does a better job with pdf files. I have it available, but usually do not use it. Mostly, this is because I am very familiar with JAWS and would need to practice Window-eyes, not necessarily that JAWS is better. I am certain that I could learn Window-eyes in time to be a productive employee, and given that you have learned several soft ware packages already, I am sure that you will learn it fine.

Thanks, Everyone,
I'd really like to hear some more feedback on this issue. I'd say I'm
relatively computer savvy, and I trained myself on the use of first ZoomText, then
later Jaws, then OpenBook, and most recently Kurzweil. Is WindowEyes someth
ing I can teach myself?
Unfortunately, in response to the suggestion that I use my own license for
Jaws at my new job, I can't do that. I work for a government agency, where we
are prohibited from installing anything that is not licensed by the agency
itself, or in the alternative, that the agency purchases the license for
itself. I can't use Jaws because the agency has a contract with WindowEyes.
Is WindowEyes easily navigable? I know people said the hot keys are
different, but does it use the same ones that regular Microsoft uses, e.g. alt + F =
file?
Thanks,
Ronza
