John,
There is a company called Envision America that makes that Bar Code
Scanner. I am not sure of its name, but its cost is about $1,500. The
company that makes this also makes an electronic medication identifier that
uses some sort of digital chip that pharmacies could provide with a special
printer. I have been quite tempted by the bar code scanner for identifying
household products and food, given my laziness when it comes to providing
Braille labels, but $1,500 seems like a lot of money to compensate for
one's laziness. Therefore, so far, I have not really ever seen or tested
it. Call if you want to know any more about this though.

Hello Ross,
Long time no see. I think the product I am thinking of is its own device and
not a add on but I will check it out. I hope everything is well for you.
Take care,
John
