The Spring 2026 issue of Future Reflections is

linked online <https://nfb.org/resources/publications-and-media/future-reflections> .

This is a special issue on the theme of Braille, including several articles by teachers and parents. NOPBC President Cassie McKinney writes about learning Braille with her son, and Kate Garcia shares the story of obtaining Braille instruction for her daughter. Casey L. Robertson, Julie Majzell, Rebecka Gullickson, and Erin Zobell suggest innovative ways of teaching Braille that mirror the way sighted children learn to read print. Sanho Steele-Louchart and Kimberly Kristenson remind readers of the laws that support Braille instruction for blind students. And there’s much more!

I welcome your feedback, and I would love to hear from you about ideas for articles in upcoming issues. Future Reflections is your magazine!

Got it… I can’t find any reason why the Spanish thing would be happening… the language is set to English… but Word does do weird stuff sometimes… I’ll get this moving out to the printer today.

Only a very few:

In the TOC it reads: Braille Readers Are Leaders: A Short Story. It should be A Short History

In Jonathan Mosen’s article, under 2022: The Orbit 340 offers three lines by forty cells; the Orbit Slate 520 provides five lines by twenty cells. By should be of, as in three lines of forty cells and five lines of twenty cells.

In the list of BRAL winners, for some reason JAWS reads the last two winners and their pages in Spanish! I don’t know if that indicates some change in typeface, or maybe nothing at all.

Apart from that, we’re good to go! Thanks for everything!

Debbie
