Hi Maria,
I don't know about the strength in your arms, but just a funny story. We
were at a friends new hous. He is a sighted wheelchair user, so I was told
to have a look around and find the way for myself. My chair has a one arm
drive on the right side, but my left rim is also still there. So, why use
the one arm drive, I was sure nothing could happen to me, and it would be so
much faster to use (and train) both hands I thought. Well, a nice idea,
which made me almost instantly find a small table, I didn't hear coming.
Well nothing broken, or damaged, but I now use one hand for riding and the
other for looking when in a strange environment. I use both wheels though,
in my own house, when i on rare occasions use my chair inside, or when I
can't take a curb on one hand. But I would like an option to use both hands,
because it would be less tiring.
Best regards,
Petra
