[Blind-rollers] "Hemmy"?

Hello all! and happy holidays!
Mike's request for info on a light weight chair prompts a question of my
own: First, I recently got a new light weight chair called a "hemmy"
(perhaps spelled wrong). Since I'm not the one who lifts it into the car, I
don't know how much it weighs, but my mother says it is much lighter than my
old manual chair -- and in fact, I got the new chair as much for her sake as
mine. It is a nice chair except for one nit: the brakes work in the
opposite direction from the brakes on my old chair, and in fact from all the
chairs I have ever used. In short, pushing forward unlocks the brake and
vice versa, instead of locking them. While I pride myself at having good
spatial skills and feel I can remember which way to push the brake lever,
there is always the fear that I -- or my reflexes -- will forget and unlock
when I need to lock, and vice versa. This could obviously have dire
consequences, and almost has led to disaster already.
Does anyone else have a hemmy? and is it alone at locking the brakes in
reverse?
Take care and happy rolling!
