"Any sufficiently advanced technology is indistinguishable from magic"
Arthur C. Clarke
While this may be considered true in many instances, you may have
noticed that over the last week our external web hosting has been
performing considerably under its magical potential, and with perfect
timing just after we announce the call for abstracts!
We apologise for any confusion this may have caused.
We've been reliably informed that the files have been moved to a new
server which should be much more stable (fingers crossed).
"Ya gots to work with what you gots to work with" Stevie Wonder

Original call for abstracts:
We know from our previous events that there are many people around the
world doing wonderful things to make images accessible, but that the
majority of this work is performed in relative isolation.
We developed the Tactile Graphics conference series to provide a
platform for this good practice to reach a wider audience, and to
encourage international collaboration for the benefit of all.
This is your opportunity to publicise your good practice by presenting
and/or exhibiting at Tactile Graphics 2008, and to share what you're
doing with international colleagues working towards the same goals,
often striving to find solutions to the same issues.
We work hard to ensure that this conference is as much about practical
advice and solutions, as it is about academic research and technical
developments. To guarantee we stay on track with a balance of each we
are grateful for the help of our Content Group of international experts:

This means you don't need to have years of experience or an academic
background to take part, we're just as interested to hear what you've
done and how it works if it's something innovative which others can
learn from.
Tactile graphics are arguably still one of the hardest access solutions
to implement effectively, over the years we've seen some astounding
developments - but it is only through sharing our experiences and
working together that we'll be able to make the greatest difference.
Further details of the call for abstracts process and all the relevant
paperwork can be found on the conference website:
