2005 Passionate Focus
Exhibit of Works by Artists who are Blind or Visually Impaired
Submission Reminder
The Guild for Blind (Chicago, IL) is seeking submissions of works by artists
who are blind or visually impaired for consideration for inclusion in its
2005 Passionate Focus Exhibit.
Passionate Focus 2005 will be on exhibit in the gallery of the Fourth
Presbyterian Church in Chicago. The gallery is located on North Michigan
Avenue directly across the street from Water Tower Place and has a very
large traffic flow.
Passionate Focus will run from September 15 through November 18 , 2005. The
art will be auctioned off at a reception on September 15. Artists will
receive 70% of the final sale price.
The deadline for submission is June 3, 2005. Information and an application

The Guild is honored to announce the 2005 Passionate Focus jury:
David Klamen, Chair and Professor of Fine Arts, Indiana University
Northwest.
Klamen's work has been featured in international art exhibits and his
large-scale oil paintings are including in collections worldwide, including
the Museum of Contemporary Art and the Illinois State Museum. He holds
degrees from the University of Illinois and the School of the Art Institute.
Tony Tasset, Professor, School of Art and Design, University of Illinois,
Chicago.
Tasset has often exhibited with or cocurated exhibitions of the
neoconceptual artists who emerged with him in the mid- to late 1980s. His
work is included in the collection of the Museum of Contemporary Art. He
holds degrees from Northwestern University and the School of the Art
Institute.
Chuck Thurow, Executive Director, Hyde Park Art Center.
Thurow heads one of Chicago premier contemporary art venues: noted for
launching the careers of many of Chicago's most prominent artists since its
founding in 1939. He holds advanced degrees from the University of
California, Berkeley and the University of Wisconsin, Madison.
