Dear Friend,
I don't know to whom I'm writing, but I'm writing at the suggestion of
Ann Cunningham of Denver Colorado, who has done the work for which I now
need an artist.
I am attaching a brief summary of the project for which I need a
person. The total time commitment, spread between May 05 and July 06,
is about six weeks. I have grant money to pay the person but would
have to negotiate the cost of travel to Kansas City from the artist's
home.
Our lead artist needs to be able to give firm guidance to the
creativity in our group. And during the two week camping trip, to help
us be
creative while we are on the go.
The other artist-educators include three fellows who have made the Trail
trip in years past: Wolfgang, a threatre artist, Jolan, a visual artist
and jazz guitarist, and Neil, a videographer. There will be another
artist, new to the trip. Altogether the five artists have major
responsibilities for stimulating the kids' creative connection with the
Trail, the pioneers, and with our own pioneering experiences. And the
more we can also engage the creativity of the rest of the adult staff,
the better. The two- and three-hour travel stints in the vans and some
half-hours in the early mornings and evenings are the time frames within
which the artists and kids work. We have limited carrying capacity for
arts materials, some in the minivans with the kids, more in the 24-foot
truck with all our camping and food supplies.
I realize this is a very sketchy description. If you know of anyone who
might be suitable and interested and available, I will of course have
much more detail to share.
Thanks so much for directing this information to anyone who it might
suit.
