Hello:

my daughter is in first grade and is 7 years old.

I have since the beginning of the school year have asked for some type
of accessible material so I may help her with her homework, etc. it
finally took me emailing the entire board of the school district, and
although no one from the school district admitted wrong doing, it gave
them an idea I wasn't going to give up so easy so they started to
record the homework instructions on tape. but the tape recorder
stopped coming home, they claimed it was broken. and although the
teacher says she has a new one, it still hasn't came home for some
reason.

I asked if they would be willing under section 504 or 508 to ask the
publishers for an electronic copy.

I am not sure if this situation falls under those laws but it was
worth a try, at first they were totally against it and claimed no
matter what they didn't have to accommodate anything. they said
because she wasn't in special ed, she didn't have to get accommodated,
but I am the one requesting it so I may help her with homework etc.

we tried the whole recording on tape home work instructions, but the
homework is so graphical and the teacher is so paige, I can't sifer
what exactly she is expected to do.

any ideas please?
