Hey Allison,
Karen and I participated in early voting last Wednesday evening.
Unfortunately, we did not get to cast an accessible, secret ballot. The
poll workers were obviously clueless and told us it would take more than two
hours using the accessible machines, so we agreed to have an election
official help us. What happened next was even more inappropriate! She had
Karen and I sit down at the same table and vote, one after the other!!! I
reported the incident to the Secretary of State (602-542-8683) and to the
NFB HAVA hotline this afternoon (877-632-1940). I encourage anyone who has
problems casting their secret ballot to report the incident so issues can be
resolved by 2008.
