This is an excellent opportunity to involve someone who can bring a much-needed positive blindness philosophy to ASU's blind students, faculty, and DRC staff.

Duties and Responsibilities
Determines eligibility and coordinates access to accommodations and services for postsecondary students with disabilities, primarily students who are blind/visually
impaired, have acquired brain injuries, and/or physical, health-related disabilities, learning disabilities and attention deficit hyperactivity disorder
(ADHD). Reviews Ophthalmologist's reports, psycho educational, psychological, medical and other technical evaluations of students abilities, disabilities,
and requests for reasonable accommodations. Develops plans to support access to courses, programs, facilities, services and activities on campus. Advocates
to increase the support of the campus community. Provides ongoing information and support for prospective and enrolled students as well as faculty and
staff. Provides ongoing consultation and technical assistance to faculty and staff to facilitate equal learning and other opportunities. Maintains knowledge
of current issues and legislation. Documents and maintains case records.
Minimum Qualifications
Masters degree in Rehabilitation Counseling, Counseling, Educational Psychology or related field including two (2) years of progressively responsible experience
in a closely related position
Minimum Qualifications Supplement
OR, any equivalent combination of education and/or experience from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.

Desired Qualifications
Experience evaluating disability documentation, including psycho educational, psychological and medical, ophthalmologist reports and/or evaluations; experience
assessing medical and technical evaluations for disability accommodations. Demonstrated knowledge of computer and adaptive technology. Experience developing
and presenting in-service trainings. Demonstrated knowledge of disability practices and procedures. Demonstrated knowledge of all applicable federal and
state laws, policies, regulations and standards, e.g., Section 504 and the ADA. Demonstrated knowledge of: principles, concepts, methods and techniques
of universal design; standards, requirements and regulations regarding confidentiality of information.
