If you are a VR client and want to attend our state convention, please read
the important message below.

RSA is very open to helping certain VR clients participate in the 2006 NFBA
state convention. If a client has not attended an adult training program,
is considering how such training will benefit him or her, needs more
information in order to make an informed choice, or needs to learn more
about consumer advocacy organizations such as ours, then he can qualify for
VR to pick up the costs. Participation in the seminars at our convention is
part of adjustment to blindness. Peer mentoring is crucial to developing
proper skills and attitudes. If students or other clients have a positive
partnership with his VR counselor and wish to make the request that VR cover
transportation, hotel, and meal cost, then go ahead. Suggest that the
counselor talk with or e-mail Ed House for administrative support for the
request. If your situation with the counselor is maybe not so perfect, you
can call Bob Kresmer, and we can speak with the counselor together. Think
of this kind of request as a positive, proper way to involve RSA in your
quest to become the best informed person you can become.
