SPECIAL OPPORTUNITY FOR MEMBERS, FRIENDS, AND OTHER SUPPORTERS OF
THE NATIONAL FEDERATION OF THE BLIND
TO BID ON SILENT AUCTION PACKAGES AT THE 2006 CELEBRATION
The 2006 Celebration is being held tomorrow, Friday, April 7. As part
of this fundraising event there is a Silent Auction. This year we are
providing a one-day opportunity for members, friends, and other
supporters of the National Federation of the Blind to make a
long-distance bid on silent auction items via fax.
Donated items have been grouped into packages of similar interest. The
complete list of Silent Auction packages and the bidder form to be
faxed(both .pdf and Word format)can be found on the NFB Web site at the
following address: http://nfb.org/coming/silentauction06.htm
All bids must be faxed to 410-659-5129 and received no later than 4:00
p.m. EST, Friday, April 7, and include complete credit card information
as per the form.
If you are the winning bidder your credit card will be charged on Friday
evening, April 7, 2006. All bid sheets will be numbered sequentially,
in the order in which they are received. Your first bid will be entered
at one of three levels--the starting bid amount, the next increment
available, or your bidder's cap, i.e., the highest amount you are
willing to bid for this package.
NOTE: Before you set your cap please remember that for a competitive
bid--one where others are bidding for the same package--the starting bid
on Friday evening could be as high as YOUR CAP which means you will be
the starting bidder. This does not insure that you will be the winning
bidder since others might outbid you on Friday night.
There will be a designated person assigned during the evening to place
bids received by fax.
Winning bidders not at the Celebration on Friday evening will be
notified the week of Monday, April 10, either by phone, email, or fax.
There will not be a charge for shipping, and shipping will be by a
mutually agreed upon method.
In addition, anyone interested in bidding on the Live Auction items (see
list below) can also fax that information, and a proxy will bid for you.
Happy bidding.

A Touch of Class
Dazzlingly brilliant diamond necklace containing 1.07 carats of round
diamonds set in 14k white gold. This strikingly attractive piece has
six clusters of diamonds separated by a line of nine diamonds that
creates a 'V' shape permitting two additional clusters of diamonds to
dangle. The diamond portion is then attached to a double chain, making
this the perfect completion to her ensemble.
