Hello students,
Each January, the National Federation of the Blind of Arizona coordinates a luncheon for Arizona state legislators at the Capitol in Phoenix. This is an excellent chance for NFBA members and friends to interact with our state legislators and to discuss issues affecting blind Arizonans.

This year, the legislative luncheon will be held on Tuesday, January 17, from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at the Arizona Capitol Complex, 1700 W. Washington, in the Grand Canyon room. Members are asked to arrive by 10:30 a.m. to be ready when the legislators come at 11:00. The lunch consists of a hot meal which costs $5.00.

I understand that this is the first day of the semester for some of us, but if you don't have class on Tuesdays until later, or if you have a break, I encourage you to come and represent the Arizona Association of Blind Students and also add to our state delegation. I will be attending myself and can carpool with anyone coming from ASU.

If you want to attend, please let me know and also tell your chapter president if you belong to a local NFB chapter. Money for the lunch can be given to an officer of your local chapter or an officer of AABS.

Finally, we need help with calling legislators and urging them to attend. If you have some free time before going back to school, please devote a few minutes to calling your senators and representatives. To find out who they are, call
(602) 926-3559
Hope to see you all there!
