C'mon Arizonans, let's show the other state student divisions our goalball
stuff! Below are details about the goalball game being planned for Saturday,
July 2, in Louisville. I look forward to seeing many of you in the hotel
lobby at 11:45 a.m. that day!

Hi all.
I'm writing with some info and an urgent question about goalball at convention. First of all we'll be playing from 12:30 to 3:30 on Saturday the second. I hope all of you will join us. We're going to play in the gym of the Kentucky School for the Blind. The address is 1867 Frankfort Ave. I plan to take a group of people there by public bus. It's a dollar to ride the bus. I think the bus we need to catch is a few minutes after 12:00, so we'd probably need to meet in the lobby of the hotel around 11:45. If you aren't there by a couple minutes till 12 then you'll have to find another way there. You may also take a cab. It's about 5 dollars from the hotel. And that's just a guess from my experience. However I do know it shouldn't be much more than that if it is more. For anyone who is playing there are locker rooms there. However you need to bring your own shower stuff. We have several girls who want to play and not so many men, but some of the girls from Kentucky say that they are willing to play with the men. We're used to it, and I wasn't sure how any of you others feel about it. If you've only played once or twice and haven't seen much ball trust me when I say men throw fast and harder. But, if you don't mind playing some with the guys let me know. I'm just going to mix people up so we can all play with different people and get to know one another. Depending on what time allows I figure we can get in 2 women and 2 men's games playing 7 minute half's. If we run short on time we'll switch that to one game a piece that way we can get some new people out there and do a demonstration and maybe give some instruction.
Secondly I'm kind of between a rock and a hard place with a ball folks. I need to know if there is anyone out there who has access to a ball that they can bring with them. We've managed to break about 4 balls this season, and haven't had a chance to get another. The ball that we have been practicing with belongs to a couple of our players who are going to the ACB convention and they are taking their ball. So, we are down to one ball which happens to be taped together as we speak, and I don't feel comfortable playing with it at convention. So if you have a ball you are willing to bring. Please please let me know ASAP.
Lastly I still need a couple of people who are willing to either time keep score or be a line judge for the games. If no one can do so we'll manage. Our players here are used to do all of those things so while they aren't playing the can rotate doing other things.
OK, I'm sorry for the incredibly long post, but there you have it. Again if anyone needs to contact me you can write me off list at mailto:kittie41103 at aol.com kittie41103 at aol.com
Or you may call at 502 262-5734
See you all at convention.
