For many of us, the difference between failure and success was the availability of mentors. A mentor is a teacher, a listener, a problem solver, and some times, a friend. The NFB Committee on Employment is looking for mentors to work with job seekers during the convention in Louisville. Should you decide to do this, you will commit to spending some time with one or two of our job seekers, helping them with your skill and experience. You also commit to giving feedback to the committee as to how this process could be improved.

If you are looking for a job, and would like to spend some time with a mentor, we want to help you find one. Many of our NFB members have learned how to find jobs, to keep jobs, and to adapt jobs to make them more easy to do. They have dealt successfully with blindness on the job, and in their business lives. They may have something you can use.

Both mentors, and those wishing to meet up with a mentor should do these things:
    * Plan to attend the Employment Seminar on Saturday, July 2 in Louisville.
    * Let your willingness to be a mentor be known by emailing Buna Dahal <mailto:bdahal at cocenter.org>bdahal at cocenter.org by June 15. We will make every effort to put you together.
