Auto Mark System.  The auto mark has a touch screen and it does not =
tabulate votes, but it has but paper trail.  There are representatives =
from Auto Mark, and they want our feedback.\par\ql \par\ql The ballot is =
a regular ballot which goes into an optical scanning machine.  However, =
the Auto mark can be formatted for all different types of people.\par\ql =
\par\ql This machine is going to be tested till November, and the =
automark machine will be in a certain number of counties.  Maricopa =
County would like to have the machine installed.\par\ql \par\ql The =
votes are not counted and the ballots are counted as the same balot like =
anyone else uses.  When the voter goes into the  location, they will =
receive a balot.  The voter can fill it out by hand and drop it into the =
optical scanner or they can take the ballot and insert it into the auto =
mark.\par\ql \par\ql The machine uses the eloquence Speech driver which =
is the same speech driver which JAWS for Windows uses.  The Eloquence =
can speak several different languages.\par\ql \par\ql When a blind =
person uses the Automark, they use a control panel which has several =
buttons on it.  The keypad consists of a cursor cross, round and square =
buttons as well as Braille labels for each button.\par\ql \par\ql The =
automark allows a blind person to speed up the eloquence and you can =
adjust the volume.\par\ql \par\ql There's connections for various types =
of earphones and there's even a feature so a blind person can turn the =
screen completely off so a blind person can vote in privet.}
