> HELP KIDS ROCK ARIZONA - JANUARY 6, 7, 8, & 9
> With the P.F. Chang's Rock 'n' Roll Arizona Marathon & ½ Marathon nearing 
> its second running in January, race officials have announced the addition 
> of the Phoenix Children's Hospital Kids Rock youth race. Geared to 
> children ages 6 through 12-years-old, the race is a one-mile 
> non-competitive event that allows children to run on race day - Jan. 9, 
> 2005 - and cross the official finish line outside Arizona State 
> University's Sun Angel Stadium in Tempe. Sponsored by Phoenix Children's 
> Hospital and instituted to promote youth health and fitness, children will 
> be encouraged to run, jog or walk 25.2-miles prior to the event. On race 
> day, the kids will complete the final mile with their appropriate age 
> group, culminating in the completion of a full 26.2-mile marathon. Phoenix

> VOLUNTEER DATES/TIMES/DUTIES NEEDED:

> KIDS ROCK event at an ASU Women's Basketball Game! The team will be 
> hosting a kids health expo at their game at the Wells Fargo arena where 
> we'll be able to promote sign-ups, do finger casting, and water safety 
> pledges with the kids! Volunteers will receive tickets to the game and 
> will probably only be volunteering through half-time.
> * Thursday, 1/6/05 (9AM-NOON) - 20 volunteers are needed to help the KIDS 
> ROCK participants get ready for the big race day with the PCH Kids Rock 
> Star final training run and Elite Athlete Clinic. Kids will have the 
> opportunity to meet and run with world-class runners from the P.F. Chang's 
> Rock 'n' Roll Arizona at Excelencia Elementary School on 22nd St. and 
> McDowell in Phoenix, Arizona. Athletes will share pre-race rituals, tips 
> on how to run a smart race, give autographs and lead participants on the
