Jewel:
There are 3 acres of pasture; it is very thick. Cruiser and the goats were not
able to keep up with it. Cruiser is not a good grazer, his jaw was injured
years ago. I have to supplement his diet with a horse feed or he loses to much
weight. I also give the goats a little grain every day, just so I can get my
hands on all of them and see how they are doing. They are also very spoiled!
They must just be eating weeds, they don't seem real interested in the grass.
The vet says they are some of the healthiest goats he's ever seen, so I guess
they are getting all they need.
I'm not sure Jed is going to work out here. He tries to chase the goats, so I
have to keep him in a different field. The trainer and I are going to try
introducing him again, but I'm nervous about him with the goats. I was told
that he used to live with sheep; I'm thinking that wasn't true or he didn't
live well with them. It's sad because he is so sweet with people, but I can't
have him harming my goats.
